ST. LOUIS, Mo. – October 19, 2011 – Save-A-Lot, one of the nation’s leading hard-discount, limited-assortment grocery chains and a wholly owned subsidiary of SUPERVALU Inc. (NYSE: SVU), is opening its second store in Hollywood, Fla., on Thursday, Oct. 20. To celebrate the store’s grand opening, Save-A-Lot will host a public preview party on Wednesday, Oct. 19 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Community members are invited to attend for an advance store viewing, live music, free samples and giveaways.

To further the company’s commitment to the Hollywood community, Save-A-Lot is donating $5,000 to the Feeding South Florida, a local chapter of Feeding America. Save-A-Lot will also distribute bags of groceries to 3,000 families in nearby neighborhoods.

The grand opening of the Save-A-Lot food store offers the Hollywood, Fla., community affordable, easy access to food and groceries, and will bring 20-25 jobs to the area—with many store associates from the local neighborhood.

Beginning Thursday, Oct. 20, the new store, located at 2420 N. Dixie Highway, will be open for business seven days a week; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
